A Day At The Fair With Monika!

So my plan was to record my day at the fair totally on video, but that didn't happen. My mom offered to let me use her camera, which was great because hers is a 12 mega pixel and I think mine is 9. something, but my mom's batteries died after only ONE video, and by then we weren't going back home to get new batteries. The only photos I got were on my phone, but it worked out ok. The only video I got was of this horse we saw in the parking lot who had his front legs in the water barrel thing and was splashing himself. I haven't ever seen that before. Anyway, without further ado! The only video I captured.

It's very exciting isn't it? Don't worry. I was still determined to document the day, even if it needed to be through photos.

The first familiar face we saw was Spongebob. With Monika and I being the crazy fans that we are, we were extremely excited to see him.

He was joined by an alien.

After we left Spongebob and our blue E.T. friend, we ventured to the animals. Monika was a bit disgusted upon seeing some of the adorable animals excreting the bodily fluids. However, amid the feces and urine, we saw some adorable animals and some that made us giggle because they were so fat or creepy! The first animals we visted were the birds.

I thought this pigeon was funny. He was staring at everyone and seemed a bit full of himself. I would name him....Roberto.

Now THIS bird is just weird. Its eye is pretty much the size of its face! I said it looked like a gremlin. Monika said it looked like an ewok. Either way, it was different.

After the birds, it was onto the bunnies!!

And after the bunnies we went to see the rest of the animals. You know, pigs and sheep and cows. The works. This sheep was SO frickin' big! Seriously, this thing was bigger than me! I don't think Monika had ever pet a sheep before because she was so suprised that their coat was like a memory foam matteress.

Then it was onto the cows! First we visited the dairy cows and their babies, who were in the process of being groomed. It was when we got to the more stocky cows that things got interesting. I really don't think Monika has spent much time around barnyard animals because she was always so suprised and grossed out that they just peed where they were standing. The first thing we saw when we went into the second cow house was a frickin' huge brown cow taking a leak. We went through the rest of the place, commenting on how cute some of them were when we noticed a baby cow with his head on his back. We had no idea what it was doing, but we eventually noticed that the cow was staring at a guy who was sound asleep in the hay.

Once we had seen all the animals, we decided to go into the photography area above one of the three markets, all of which we had combed through by the end of the day. Since our funds were low, we didn't really buy anything, but we had fun 'window' shopping and trying random things on.

However, we needed to buy SOMETHING. Because of this, we decided to buy matching jewelry. Originally it was going to be rings, but the only rings we could find in our price range had the annoying split thing on the bottom and I discovered that I'm not the only one who loathes those things. Because of this, we ended up getting some epic bracelets.

After getting our bracelets, we started to wander around some more until we found a duckpond! I've been going to the fair since before I can remember and I had no idea there was a duck pond! We hung out there and just looked at the ducks. However, none of them we coming close enough for use to hang out with them so we started to feed them. Monika was afraid we were going to kill them because all she had to feed them was walnuts. I was feeding them applesauce. I put it in my plastic spoon and catapulted it into the water. Everything was great and fun until...we were attacked. It was so peaceful when they suddenly materialized from out of nowhere. They were...evil. Naturally, at the sight of them, we freaked out. I had my legs hanging over the side of the cement stage thing we were on. I'll be honest, I screamed like a girl and I was far from the edge in a second. They came in a swarm out of no where and they wanted our food, which we probably would have given to them were we not attacked. Since it was such an event in the day, I faced my fears and captured a photo of our attackers for my blog. You'll clearly see them keeping the ducks at bay. The demon geese.

Once we were safe from the evil geese, we decided to wander and look around again. We found many interesting things. There was a brass windmill, which was epic, and a frog vomiting a sponge.

Then, it was time to find something to do for free, and we did it alright. We didn't get much for free, but we had fun earning it. We got an emergency first aid kit and whistles that we used at the rodeo.

After that it was time to hit the rodeo. Considering it was dark I didn't take pictures of the rodeo because I knew for a fact they wouldn't turn out. But I did get a picture of the guy skydiving with the flag and the sasquatch.

After the rodeo we ended the night on a high note. It's tradition for my familiy and i to go down the big yellow slide. Monika won. After that, we went home, watching How To Train Your Dragon on the way down. We already have plans for next year. Only next year...we're bringing more money. Who knows, maybe I'll even drag Monika onto more rides that the big yellow slide. Either way, I consider this year's trip to the fair a success.
